WHAT IS “THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH”?

The Episcopal Church was brought to America by the first English settlers in 1607 and is a member of the world-wide Anglican Communion, with over 70 million members in 80 countries.

Unlike denominations which require adherence to certain doctrines, Episcopalians are bound together by our belief that Holy Scripture contains “all things necessary to salvation” and that, by study and prayer, we discover God's hope and call to us through our life together.

All are welcome to participate in our worship because it is in worship that we live out our life as a Christian family. The service follows the Book of Common Prayer. This book, first issued in 1549 and most recently revised in 1979, is a guide for daily Christian living.

We believe there is One God who creates all things, redeems us from sin and death, and renews us as children of Our Father. We follow Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord. We believe the mission of our church is restoration of all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.

We are enriched by your presence with us.
